Here's a brief Bio with some career highlights on Mark Roberts, breeder/handler/trainer, founder of Von Krenz Bordeaux ® - A BenchMark Breeder ™

Mark has been involved with animals all of his life, even when he was stationed over seas and actively involved in the US Army Special Operations Community Mark found time to have some sort of critter as a pet. While residing in the jungles of Central & South America Mark would often keep a large Parrot or Macaw as a companion.

Born & raised in the great state of Minnesota, work ethic & morals of a true Midwesterner

  • Middle son of 3 sons, no sisters
  • Involved with dogs, birds, reptiles and many other exotics during childhood

Graduated Blaine Senior High School 1977

  • Special note of thanks to Jim Elmquist, BSH Guidance Counselor who saw the great potential in this troubled youth

1977 - 1981 US Army Military Police Corps

  • Certified Patrol Dog Handler, Narcotics/Explosive Detection dog trainer, Kennel Master
  • Recipient of numerous letters of accommodation/awards for outstanding service
  • Served in the Panama Canal Zone during the turbulent times of treaty turnover (President Carter Administration)

1987 - Received Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology from Florida State University

  • Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army

1987 - 1992 US Army Infantry Officer/Special Forces (18A) Officer

Graduate of the following US Army Courses:

  • IOBC (Infantry Officer Basic Course – Ft. Benning, GA)
  • Jump School (Airborne/paratrooper school – Ft. Benning, GA)
  • SFAS (Special Forces Assessment & Selection – Ft. Bragg, NC)
  • CMOC (Civil Military Operations Course – Ft. Bragg, NC)
  • SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance & Escape – Ft. Bragg, NC)
  • SFQC (Special Forces Qualification Course - Ft. Bragg, NC)

1992 – 1997 Peace Corps Volunteer, Criminologist & Consultant

1997 – Moved back to Minnesota after a 20 year absence –

1997 – Took Delivery of our First Dogue De Bordeauxs

  • Mandy, Nickie & Augie were our first, in that order. We were extremely fortunate & lucky, all 3 of our DDBs OFA’d certified in hips, elbows, patellas, cardiac & thyroid!
  • Since the acquisition of our first Dogue De Bordeauxs, we have gone on to receive 122 official Orthopedic Foundation For Animals certifications, more than any other Dogue De Bordeaux breeder in the history of the breed (not a bad thing to be proud of).
